The Squier Affinity P-Bass is an affordable 4-string bass guitar great for beginner bass players. It is one of the Squier Affinity Series which is for those on a budget. This is a very decent bass and sounds good and is very playable. If you are looking for a bass guitar for a beginner this is a good choice. The sound is very comparable to other fender basses. It's can be used for Jazz, Rock, or High School Bands. The The body is made of Alder which is the same type of wood used in many of the Fender guitars. The shape and weight of the body allows for hours of playing. The Precision was actually made before the Stratocaster back in 1951 in response to the Telecaster solid body guitar. The Telecaster was now louder than the stand up bass guitars of the time so Fender made the Fender Precision. One thing about it was it was fretted while most bass guitars of the time where standup fretless type. The contoured body was another great feature. It fits your body for hours of playing. The white single-ply pickguard covers the electronics. The bridge is the standard 4-Saddle type which is chrome. The 34 inch scale maple neck has 20 Medium Jumbo frets and has a polyurethane finish. The profile of the neck is a "C" shaped for ease of playing. The fretboard is made of rosewood with dot position inlays. The Tuners are the standard Precision bass open-gear tuners which are chrome to match the rest of the hardware. The radius of the neck is great for overall playing at 9.5 inches. The pickup is a split-single-coil type that are similar to that found on the Fender Precision Basses. There is no pickup selector as there is only one pickup. The pickup in the picture may look like it's two different pickups but it's actually only one. The control knobs are one master volume and one tone knob. Features
